A note from Patty:
(following the OIGC Concert on April 16)
I was very proud of the choir's performance at the Oakland Interfaith concert on Saturday. It was great to have so many singers there, both for our own performance, and for the mass choir workshop and songs. Jovan and Adam did fantastic jobs directing our numbers, and I could tell the audience loved the choices. People were singing along, clapping and dancing, and everyone smiling.
The energy that the choir had on Saturday had carried over from an excellent rehearsal last Monday. I believe I can step away from Wings of Glory now with full confidence that Adam can and will direct the group excellently, without my help or input. I urge you all to give him - and Jovan! - your full support, including your regular attendance and your joyful energy. Please invite friends to join the choir, too.
About the Choir
Wings of Glory Community Gospel Choir sings in the joyful style of Black Gospel music, uplifting and enriching for all. The group is ethnically diverse, but spiritually united. We rehearse in the traditional Gospel fashion, learning mostly by rote (you don't need to know how to read music).
Wings of Glory is open to everyone who has an interest in singing God's praises. Rehearsals are held each Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the sanctuary of Elim Lutheran Church at 504 Baker Street in Petaluma, California. We take a break in July and August and again in December. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome. There is no audition required. Check the “Singers’ Schedule” page for possible choir vacation days.
We'd like to express our deepest gratitude to Elim Lutheran Church for their support and use of rehearsal space.
Special thanks also go to our director, Adam Ivey, accompanist Smiley Brown, bassist Neil Fontano and drummer Keith Fontano. Without them, we wouldn’t have a real Gospel Choir.

Wings of Glory is mostly self funded, with voluntary donations from the choir members to pay the director and band. For full concerts, we hope to gather enough from audience donations to fund the musicians, but sometimes we come up short. If you want to help support our mission of Gospel music,we invite you to become a sponsor. For a $300 primary level Sponsorship, we will perform for the charity of your choice. Of course, donations of any amount are always welcome. Contact the webmaster at 707-763-4196 or OboeOne@juno.com.
Wings of Glory is always
